Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I (Full-Time) in Port St. Lucie, FL. This role supports registration, benefits verification and financial counseling to ensure accurate patient charges and smooth clinic flow.

You will verify demographics, insurance, and PCP information, explain forms, collect balances, and collaborate with clinical partners. Travel to other locations is required, and you will adhere to Nemours standards of care.

Qualifications

• Healthcare and customer service experience preferred.
• Registration or call center experience is a plus.
• Ability to explain forms and collect patient responsibility at service time.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary service and verify insurance benefits to determine financial responsibility.
• Verify and update demographics, insurance, PCP, and referral information for each encounter.
• Explain essential and legal forms and collect patient balances at service.
• Register patients and perform pre-registration when assigned.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and comply with regulatory policies.
• Cross-train to support Patient Financial Services as needed.
• Travel to other locations as required.
