Children’s National Hospital in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. You will provide comprehensive patient care to postoperative patients, perform airway management, monitor vital signs, and ensure safe recovery after anesthesia.

The role requires a BSN and at least 2 years PACU or critical care experience, DC RN license, and certifications like CPR and PALS; CP N or CPAN preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN from an approved school of nursing.
• Minimum 2 years PACU experience or equivalent critical care experience.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate and manage patient's airway postoperatively including airway changes after anesthesia.
• Perform manual ventilation as needed.
• Monitor cardiopulmonary function, airway patency and oxygen saturation.
• Provide timely postoperative pain management and analgesia.
• Manage epidural and neuraxial anesthesia-related care.
• Demonstrate leadership in patient handoffs and safety.
