Job summary

Children's National Medical Center is seeking an RN for our ambulatory surgery center in Lanham, MD. The role focuses on pre-op preparation, post-anesthesia care, and pediatric recovery services, with a schedule that supports work-life balance and no weekends.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN, at least two years PACU or related pediatric critical care experience, and current DC RN license with CPR, PALS, and CPAN/CPD preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN from an approved school of nursing (Preferred)
• 2 years PACU experience required or related clinical nursing experience in a comparable setting such as critical care or Peds ED. (Required)
• Registered Nurse in District of Columbia (Required)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patient's airway postoperatively.
• Perform IPPV as needed and monitor cardiopulmonary function.
• Provide post-operative pain management and monitor emergence delirium.
• Care will incorporate evidence-based practice and patient/ family education.
• Collaborate with health care team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
