Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist, Outpatient, to provide skilled, family-centered care for children from infancy through age 21. You will assess, plan and implement play-based interventions addressing fine motor, sensory processing and daily living activities, collaborating with caregivers to ensure skill carryover across home, school and community settings.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to AOTA standards, and ongoing assessment with goal-directed care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AOTA accredited occupational therapy program (Required).
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team.
• Proficiency with documentation and outcome measures per department guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized, goal-driven plans of care.
• Deliver play-based, evidence-based interventions to address fine motor, sensory, and activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with caregivers to support skill carryover and participate in an interdisciplinary team.
• Set measurable short- and long-term goals based on medical status and discharge plans.
• Complete required documentation including evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries.
