Job summary

Mercy Health’s outpatient Occupational Therapy role focuses on evaluating and treating pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients across outpatient, inpatient, and off-site settings. The OT develops individualized treatment plans from physician referrals and documents progress, ensuring safe, evidence-based care without weekend shifts.

Licensed OT in the practice state is required; BLS is preferred, with 2 years of experience in a similar setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice (required)
• 2 years of experience in an equivalent setting (preferred)
• BLS certification preferred or required within 30 days for some sites

Responsibilities

• Review physician referrals and patient history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct and document patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatment plans.
• Administer prescribed occupational therapy treatments and create customized equipment.
• Develop programs focusing on functional skills, daily activities, and motor skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust goals; participate in care conferences.
• Educate patients and families on at-home treatment procedures.
