Job summary

LOGAN Center in Indiana seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide First Steps evaluations and therapy for infants and toddlers, assessing gross motor, fine motor, oral motor, perceptual-motor, and sensory integration skills.

You will develop IFSP-based treatment plans, collaborate with families and staff, provide parent training, and contribute to home programming, with emphasis on functional outcomes and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Registered OT in Indiana; license must be current.
• Experience with pediatric evaluations and therapy is preferred.
• Ability to lift a child up to 50 pounds with adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating children with a team of other therapists or on an individual basis.
• Communicate the results of the assessment/screening as directed.
• Determine each child’s assistive technology needs, including seating and feeding devices.
• Provide individual therapy to maintain/improve motor and oral motor skills and self-help skills.
• Provide and/or obtain necessary equipment for positioning and play.
• Deal effectively with staff, agencies, families; maintain records and reports.
• Keep daily progress notes, quarterly reports, and IFSP-related documentation.
• Participate in case conferences, staff and parent meetings, and annual IFSP development.
• Attend workshops to meet professional requirements (First Steps 15-hour rule).
• Serve as a resource on gross/fine motor, perceptual-motor, and sensory processing development.
