Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an orthopedic support technician for day shifts (8:00 AM–5:00 PM), Monday–Friday, in Georgia. This PRN role supports orthopedic surgeons in clinical and surgical patient care, with a focus on safe casting, traction, and hardware management.

No minimum experience required; six months of clinical experience and one year in orthopedic cast tech are preferred, along with BLS certification within 30 days.

• Familiarity with orthopedic instrumentation and basic casting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists orthopedic service staff in clinical and patient care tasks.
• Applies and maintains traction and other patient hardware systems.
• Interacts with patients and families to support care needs.
• Delivers courteous service to coworkers, patients, and visitors.
• Removes splints/casts as ordered and maintains safety practices.
• Reports equipment issues and safety concerns to supervisor promptly.
• Adheres to age-specific guidelines and Joint Commission readiness.
