Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Orthopedic Technician (PRN) to assist orthopedic practitioners with care of patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The role mainly operates in clinic settings with occasional hospital-based work.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, 2+ years as a cast technician, BLS certification, and OT certification. You will support cast application, splints, and manage supplies while delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Two or more years as a cast technician in a similar clinical setting.
• Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association.
• Certified as an Orthopedic Technologist (OT) through NAOT or similar accrediting organization.
• Ability to create a positive rapport with patients and their family in stressful healthcare environments.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high level of quality care.

Responsibilities

• Applies and removes casts, changes dressings, and removes sutures/staples with documentation in EMR.
• Assists with application/adjustment/removal of splints, slings and orthopedic DME.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Oversees orthopedic material stock levels and places orders as needed.
• Supports routine clinic care functions: patient intake, discharge and follow-up.
• Performs other duties as requested.
