Job summary

OrthoCarolina is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant for our Pediatric location in Charlotte, NC. The role supports orthopedic patient care, triage calls, and assists physicians with examinations and procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

The successful candidate will have a medical assisting, athletic training, or nursing background, with appropriate certifications (CMA/RMA, EMT, or ATC as applicable). Travel to other OC locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training, or nursing.
• Certification is required; CMA/RMA must be registered/certified through one of the national organizations.
• EMTs must have Emergency Medical Technician certification; ATCs must be board certified as Athletic Trainer.
• New graduates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as they are escorted to the exam room and document histories, vitals, medications and allergies in the EHR (EPIC).
• Assist with examinations, treatments and in-office procedures.
• Perform routine office procedures and ensure rooms and equipment are clean and sterilized after encounters.
• Provide and reinforce patient education using booklets and instruction sheets before minor procedures.
• Coordinate administrative duties such as ordering supplies and monitoring work queues in the EHR.
