Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hospital in Galveston, TX is seeking an Operating Room RN to provide perioperative care for pediatric patients from infants to young adults. The nurse advocates for safe, family-centered care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.

Required: BSN and Texas RN license with 2+ years OR experience. CNOR preferred; scrub experience is a plus and pediatric acute care, plastics, orthopedics, or spine exposure is valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years OR experience in pediatric perioperative care.
• CNOR certification is highly preferred.
• Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery, orthopedic and spine experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
• Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.
