Job summary

UnityPoint Health - Des Moines is seeking an Experienced RN for the Blank 4 pediatric hematology/oncology unit, full-time nights 7pm-7:30am with weekend and holiday rotation.

We offer a limited-time $20,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance up to $10,000 for strongly qualified candidates moving 50+ miles. The role emphasizes comprehensive nursing care, family-centered support, and ongoing professional development in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
• Newly licensed RNs or RNs with <12 months acute RN experience may participate in RN Residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
• Completes documentation to assure an accurate record of patient's care.
• Uses critical thinking to make independent judgments and maintain knowledge of patient conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital policy and legal boundaries.
• Assesses needs of patients and families, provides teaching to facilitate discharge planning, and makes referrals to community agencies for continuity of care.
• Keeps up with current nursing practice and healthcare trends.
