Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner will serve as a high-level professional whose activities will span the interface between the physicians and nurses managing the Oncology program at Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. The role involves acting as an independent team member, responsible for the safe delivery of care for inpatient pediatric oncology patients, along with some ambulatory responsibilities for follow-up care. The team member is expected to meet productivity expectations set by the Division Chief and perform duties related to patient care that are appropriate and clearly delineated.

Required Qualifications

• CPNP-AC Certification (considered)
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in Pediatric BMT or Pediatric Oncology
• Master’s Degree in Nursing with an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialization
• Certifications: CPNP-AC, PALS, BLS

Ideal Candidate

• Active CPNP-AC certification
• At least 2 years of RN experience in a PICU or Pediatric Acute Care setting, or 6 months of Pediatric Oncology NP experience
• Pediatric Oncology experience preferred
• Willing to work rotating day/night shifts
