Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner will serve as a high-level professional, acting as an independent team member responsible for the safe delivery of care for inpatient pediatric oncology patients, with some ambulatory responsibilities for follow-up care. The role involves collaboration with physicians and nurses managing the Oncology program at Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. The Nurse Practitioner will meet productivity expectations set by the Division Chief and perform duties related to patient care.

Required Qualifications

• CPNP-AC Certification (considered for consideration)

Nurse Practitioner I

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in Pediatric BMT or Pediatric Oncology
• Master’s Degree in Nursing with an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialization

Nurse Practitioner II

• Minimum of six (6) months of Nurse Practitioner experience in Pediatric BMT or Pediatric Oncology

Certifications

• CPNP‐AC
• PALS
• BLS

Ideal Candidate

• Active CPNP-AC certification
• At least 2 years of RN experience in a Pediatric ICU or Acute Care setting, or 6 months of Pediatric ICU or Acute Care NP experience; Pediatric Oncology experience preferred
• Willing to work rotating day/night shifts
