Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, seeks a Clinic Practice Manager I - RN for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology to provide clinical and operational leadership for the Pediatric Oncology & Hematology Clinic as it grows and prepares for the Taubman Cancer Center opening in 2028.

You will recruit and mentor nursing staff, implement standards of care, and drive patient-centered flow, quality, and regulatory readiness while partnering with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Pediatric oncology/hematology nursing experience preferred.
• Experience leading program development, clinical expansion or major operational change preferred.
• Experience with infusion services and/or ambulatory oncology care a plus.
• RN/BSN license required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership for the Pediatric Oncology & Hematology nursing team.
• Promote safe, evidence-based, family-centered care for pediatric oncology and hematology patients.
• Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop nursing and clinical staff.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, professional growth, and psychological safety.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and daily clinic operations.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, social work, child life, laboratory, and other multidisciplinary partners.
• Establish and maintain clinical standards, policies, procedures, and workflows specific to pediatric oncology and hematology care.
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory readiness.
