Job summary

Advance Therapy is seeking a passionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our school-based team in Minneapolis and/or St. Paul, MN. This position offers part-time or full-time hours and the chance to make a meaningful impact on children's learning environments.

You will provide therapy aligned with IEPs, collaborate with teachers and families, and help students develop fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities in school settings.

Qualifications

• OT degree from an accredited program.
• Current Minnesota OT license.
• NBCOT certification (OTR) required or eligible.
• Experience in pediatric or school-based OT preferred.
• Knowledge of sensory integration and IEP processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based OT services to pediatric students per IEPs.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify needs and challenges.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans focusing on fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success.
• Document progress, maintain therapy records, and complete district reporting.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Provide consultation and training on adaptive strategies and assistive technology.

Education

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

NBCOT certification (OTR) required or eligible

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify students' functional needs and developmental challenges
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans targeting fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success in the classroom
• Document progress, maintain accurate therapy records, and complete required school district reporting
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and parent conferences
• Provide consultation and training to school staff on adaptive strategies and assistive technology

Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current Minnesota state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
• NBCOT certification (OTR) required or eligible
• Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred
• Strong knowledge of sensory integration, fine motor development, and IEP processes
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school teams
• Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload in a school setting
