Community Healthcore is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant to work with children aged 0-3 years in the Early Childhood Intervention Program. This role focuses on enhancing self-help skills, adaptive behavior, and motor development through home or virtual services. Candidates must have an Associate's degree in occupational therapy and a valid Texas license. Experience with children who have developmental delays is preferred.
Job scope: The Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant will be responsible for delivering services to babies aged 0-3 years in the Early Childhood Intervention Program. The role involves addressing the functional needs of children related to self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play, sensory, motor, and postural development. Services are provided in the home or virtually using a parent-coach model. The main office is located in Tyler, serving surrounding counties including Smith, Henderson, Wood, Anderson, Cherokee, Rains, and Van Zandt. The position operates under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and reports to the ECI Program Assistant Director.
Education/licensure: An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in occupational therapy is required. Candidates must be licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. A minimum of one year of pediatric occupational therapy experience is preferred. A valid driver's license in the state of residence is also required.
Experience/Knowledge: Experience working with children with developmental delays is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical requirements: Reliable transportation is essential. Must be able to perform activities such as bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, crawling, and kneeling. Ability to tolerate extreme heat and cold is necessary. Must be capable of lifting and transporting equipment for transfer and repair.
