Purple Heron Therapy Partners LLC is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our flexible, PRN outpatient team in Florida. You will deliver specialized OT services to pediatric patients in a small, friendly clinic setting and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support families.

The role focuses on neurodevelopmental and motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Florida OT license or eligibility.
• Active BLS certification.
• Experience in pediatrics and early intervention.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric OT assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Assist with ADLs and promote autonomy in daily activities.
• Collaborate with SLPs, pediatricians, educators, and families to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EHRs and ensure confidentiality.
• Provide supervision/mentorship to junior clinicians as needed.

In this very flexible, part-time role, you will provide specialized occupational therapy services tailored to pediatric patients in our small and friendly office setting.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric patients, including evaluations related to neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving motor skills, sensory processing, self-care activities, and functional independence
• Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, feeding, grooming, and toileting, to promote autonomy
• Collaborate closely with speech therapists, pediatricians, educators, and family members to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support
• Support discharge planning by assessing ongoing needs and providing recommendations for continued therapy or community resources
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation within electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and confidentiality protocols
• Engage in case management activities, including progress tracking, goal setting, and adjusting treatment strategies based on patient response and evidence-based practice
• Supervision and mentorship of COTAs and newly qualified clinicians, as needed.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Occupational Therapy with a focus on pediatric populations.
• Experience in Pediatrics and Early Intervention, including work with infants, toddlers, and school-age children.
• Skills in Sensory Integration and Working With Children to support regulation, engagement, and functional participation.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as an Occupational Therapist in Florida.
• Active BLS certification
• Completion of approved CEUs for clinical supervision strongly preferred
• Experience in pediatric feeding, motor development, and functional daily living skills is highly beneficial.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage a caseload, complete documentation efficiently, and adapt to a hybrid clinical environment.
• Comfort with electronic health records and basic telehealth platforms.
