Job summary

Health West Pediatric & OBGYN Clinic in Pocatello, ID is seeking a full-time clinical assistant to prepare patients, screen histories, and coordinate patient care. You will perform a range of clinical procedures, assist providers, manage documentation, and support referrals and recalls, ensuring timely and accurate patient flow.

The role requires completion of CA/MA/PN programs, a high school diploma, and BLS certification, with preference for one year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Graduation from a Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Graduation from a Practical Nursing Program.
• One year recent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Current certification in BLS.

Responsibilities

• Meets with patients in your provider panel and responds to their needs.
• Performs clinical procedures within scope (pediatric and adult injections, venipuncture, EKGs, etc.).
• Updates charts with tests and procedures with CPT/diagnosis for provider approval.
• Assists provider with procedures.
• Coordinates patient follow-up and care (prior authorizations, forms, abnormal results).
• Refills patient medications per clinic protocol.
• Enters and tracks recalls and outpatient referrals.
• Operates and maintains clinic equipment and supports other departments.
• Participates in meetings and quality improvement activities.
