Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care for newborns and children within the Pediatric Department.

The NP will collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, pediatricians and ER physicians to assess, diagnose and initiate appropriate care. The role requires board-certified nursing, MSN, and pediatric experience; PALS/BLS required, with PALS instructor and NRP within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s Degree in Nursing and Board Certified Nursing Program.
• 1 year experience in pediatrics required; 2 years preferred.
• Current LA APRN license; PALS and BLS certifications on hire; PALS Instructor Certification and NRP obtained within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric and newborn patient care with consultation and collaboration.
• Lead pediatric resuscitation teams when needed.
• Perform procedures such as lumbar puncture, IV therapy, and superficial abscess drainage.
• Work under collaborative practice with Pediatric Hospitalist/Intensivist and ER physician.
