Qualifications

• RN license required or enrolled in BSN/ MSN bridge program.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience.
• Pediatrics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients with input from the parent/family.
• Collaborates with health care team to assess patient/family needs and coordinates care.
• Takes after-hours and weekend calls for issues that may arise.
• Determines patient needs and priorities for care and documents teaching needs.
• Coordinates patient care with patient/family involvement in planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educates patients/families and evaluates teaching effectiveness.
• Maintains communication with perioperative/cath lab teams and related areas.
• Maintains professional standards through in-services and ongoing professional development.
• Participates in research coordination and applies findings to clinical practice.
