Qualifications

• RN license active in Texas or under Nursing Licensure Compact.
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year 6 months OR 2 years operating room experience preferred.
• BSN degree or enrollment with agreement to obtain BSN for new hires/transfers.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients with input from the parent/family.
• Collects data from patient, family, laboratory, and other medical reports according to guidelines.
• Completes nursing assessment of the patient/family including biological, psychological, age-appropriate developmental, environmental, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Coordinates, analyzes, and reviews surgical procedures.
• Documents assessment including patient needs or clinical judgments according to OR Standards of Practice and Protocols.
• Determines patient needs and priorities for care with patient teaching considerations.
• Involves patient/family in planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Educates patients and families.
• Demonstrates commitment to teamwork, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Care for Neonates, Infants, Toddler, Preschool, School Age, Adolescent, and Adult.
