Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) for the Neuro Child Evaluation team in Neptune City, NJ. The role supports a patient-centered care model, collaborating with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for pediatric patients within the HOPE Tower, 5th Floor.

The APN will perform assessments, order and interpret labs, prescribe medications per NJ regulations, mentor staff, and engage in rounds and educational activities to advance

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting as regulations dictate.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate history and physical assessments appropriate for pediatric patients.
• Orders, performs, and interprets labs and diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians.
• Prescribes medications safely in accordance with NJ regulations.
• Promotes APN practice recognition through conferences, publications, and presentations.
• Provides patient- and family-centered care and education.
