Job summary

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist III (MLS) to evaluate specimens, verify results and perform quality control to ensure high-quality pediatric laboratory results.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an Associate’s degree with two years of related experience) and Florida licensure. Shift: Days. The MLS will train staff and assist with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring accuracy across all testing phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Associate’s degree and two years of directly related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates specimens for quality and preanalytical errors.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver.
• Assists in training of new team members and students.
