Qualifications

• Certification as CPC/CPC-A/CPC-H/CCS or CCS-P required upon hire or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of coding experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CMS guidelines and CHOP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine diagnoses and procedures for coding.
• Submit coded services for billing and data entry for claims.
• Review inpatient data and resolve denials and documentation gaps.
• Maintain knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CMS and CHOP compliance requirements.
• Communicate errors and omissions and escalate as needed.
