Job summary

Pediatric Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist to join our team. The role supports clinicians with clinical and administrative duties in a pediatric setting, ensuring accurate documentation and patient care.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, EMR documentation, vaccine administration, specimen collection, and patient education. Candidates should have MA credentials (or comparable experience), BLS, and a driver’s license for potential travel

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MA diploma/certification preferred; may accept experience in lieu of formal credential for mature applicants.
• Active BLS certification required; driver’s license required on hire and throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients; prepare exam rooms with cleanliness and supplies.
• Record and document vital signs (height, weight, temp, pulse, resp, BP, pulse oximetry).
• Document patient history, medications, allergies, and chief complaint in EMR.
• Assist clinicians during examinations and routine procedures.
• Perform basic screenings (vision, hearing, development).
• Administer vaccines and meds per protocols; perform buddy-checks.
• Collect routine labs and process specimens.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and operate equipment (EKG, spirometry).
• Provide basic first aid and wound care as directed.
• Maintain patient records and organize/scanning of documents.
• Educate patients using approved materials; ensure vaccine handling and storage."
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, and routine forms; respond to messages and elevate concerns as needed.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to clinician; support infection control policies.
