Job summary

Advocate Health's AMG Yacktman Pediatrics residency clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the ambulatory care team. You will support providers, coordinate patient flow, and help ensure a compassionate, efficient patient experience across a busy pediatric setting.

The position requires a MA diploma or equivalent experience, with pediatric exposure considered a plus. Expect a 40-hour work week with potential Saturday rotation in a dynamic health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Medical Assistant diploma or 2 years of MA experience, or certification with 2 years MA experience, to qualify.
• Previous pediatric experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and teammates to deliver coordinated care.
