Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric urgent care operations and direct patient care under physician supervision. You will handle clinical tasks, patient intake, and basic lab duties while ensuring a safe, friendly environment for children and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior pediatric medical assisting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Demonstrates professional and friendly demeanor with strong communication skills.
• Experience with medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, vital signs, and intake information.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat and urine cultures; venipuncture experience preferred).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds; assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Be an integral part of the patient care team and support care within scope.
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception with supplies; keep waiting area orderly.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Follow policies and procedures, report changes to management.
