Job summary

Advocate Health in Wilmette, IL is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support the care team and ensure patient safety and confidentiality. You will handle patient intake, vitals, and assist with procedures.

The role requires a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of MA experience (or certified MA with 2 years MA experience) and may prefer phlebotomy skills. 20 hours per week with every fourth weekend required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical assistant diploma or 2 years MA experience or certified MA with 2 years MA experience.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
