Job summary

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, VT seeks a Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA or RMA) to provide direct patient care in the pediatric team.

You will work under physician supervision to perform clinical tasks, coordinate care, and support families with compassionate, efficient service. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, routine exams, vital signs, and collaboration with providers to ensure safe, high-quality pediatric care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current active CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification is required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Minimum of one year of hospital or medical office experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families, obtain health histories, vital signs, and document in the EHR.
• Assist providers with clinical procedures including injections, testing, dressings, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Support patient communication by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and processing prescriptions.
• Maintain patient records, manage EHR tasks, stock supplies, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
