Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte's 01450 GCMG Dev & Beh Pediatrics general department is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time role. You will handle rooming, vitals, history, screenings, and assist physicians with procedures.

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, 40 hours per week. The position includes lab work, vaccinations, and patient communication, with opportunity to grow in a supportive pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification required within 45 days in some divisions.
• Ability to perform routine and complex clinical tasks with accuracy.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, health maintenance and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and venipuncture as ordered.
• Performs waived labs and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following rights of administration.
• Manages scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations as needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and ensures equipment readiness.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and effective communication.
