Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Lexington, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Pediatrics: General clinic. The role supports exam preparation, vitals gathering, and specimen collection under physician supervision. It requires BLS and MA certification with a preference for 1 year of experience.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with typical hours Monday to Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm. Ideal candidates display dependability, compassion, and a commitment to excellent pediatric care

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA or equivalents) is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• 1 year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for exam, record vital signs and pertinent health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assist physicians/APP with procedures such as minor exams and testing.
• Administer routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Coordinate referrals and communicate with the care team to ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Provide patient education and ensure age-appropriate care.
