Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams, coordinate care, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

The role requires completion of an MA program/externship or related EMT/Paramedic training, with opportunities for MA credentialing and ongoing professional growth in a mission-driven organization serving Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with completion of an approved MA program and externship/internship, EMT or Paramedic program, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA non-credentialed path acceptable if MA certification pursued; active state license preferred.
• MA credentialed options include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
