Job summary

HHM Health in Dallas is seeking a Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our pediatric team. You will support providers in delivering compassionate care to infants, children, and adolescents, preparing patients for examinations and maintaining accurate records.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming, child-friendly environment. A high school diploma is required; Medical Assistant Certification is preferred, with BLS/CPR up to date.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Experience in pediatrics is a plus.
• Excellent patient engagement and communication skills.
• Knowledge of computers and data entry with a high level of accuracy.
• eClinicalWorks EMR experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR Certification up to date.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, Pashto, Rohingya is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist pediatric providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer vaccines and medications as directed by the provider and within scope of practice.
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments; verify insurance and manage patient intake and check-out processes.
• Assess patients' conditions by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, height, weight, and BMI.
• Perform laboratory tests and other functions.
• Educate parents and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, immunizations, and follow-up care instructions.
• Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support efficient clinic flow with staff already familiar with pediatric workflows and immunization.
