Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 respite care for families of clients with developmental disabilities.
G-tube care and feeding as needed.
Take vital signs and administer prescribed medications.
Trach care when necessary (training provided; not always required).
Check blood glucose and administer insulin as ordered.
Seizure management and safety precautions during visits.
Document all nursing notes after each visit.
Support clients and their family members during care.
Monitor and report changes in client condition to supervisors.
