Pediatric Associates Family of Companies seeks a Floater Medical Assistant with Lab duties to support pediatric patients across multiple offices in Florida. The role combines clinical and laboratory tasks under clinician supervision.

You will perform phlebotomy, lab testing, vital signs, record keeping, and vaccine administration while collaborating with care teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care in a flexible float position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience required.
• MA diploma or certification or 3 years MA experience.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsabilités

• Performs laboratory testing procedures in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology and Spirometry.
• Reports laboratory results to a clinician and documents critical values.
• Performs phlebotomy including venipuncture, finger sticks and heel sticks.
• Prepares specimens for reference lab send-outs with labeling and billing information.
• Performs and documents routine quality control and instrument maintenance.
• Take and document patient vitals and notify clinician of abnormal findings.
• Interview patient with age-appropriate questions and update medical records.
• Obtain medical records and follow up as needed.
• Prepare patient for clinician examination and ensure orders documented.
• Assist clinicians with age-appropriate screenings and procedures and emergency responses.
• Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation and provide vaccine information statements.
• Administer vaccines and injections as directed with proper post-observation.
