Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Laboratory Medical Assistant Floater to perform quality patient care under clinician supervision across multiple offices. The role combines clinical and administrative duties to support pediatric care, chronic disease management, specimen collection, and routine lab testing.

Floating staff will handle phlebotomy, prepare specimens, run quality control, record vital signs, assist with visits, and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience required.
  • MA Diploma/Certification or 3 years MA experience in lieu.
  • Active BLS certification required.
  • Active and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology and Spirometry.
  • Reports results to clinicians and flags critical values.
  • Performs phlebotomy including venipuncture and finger/heel sticks.
  • Prepares specimens for reference labs with labeling and billing information.
  • Performs daily/weekly quality control and instrument maintenance.
  • Records intake vitals and updates medical records with findings.
  • Assist with vaccines and reconciliation; document properly.
  • Travel and float across offices to support MA or Lab stations.
