J.D. McCarty Center is seeking a Food Service Specialist in Norman, OK to support the dietary team and ensure meals meet the needs of pediatric patients from birth to 21 years old.

The role emphasizes reliability, punctuality, and adherence to kitchen hygiene standards. The position involves food preparation, patient tray assembly, diet modification, and routine kitchen sanitation, with duties including handling deliveries, POS handling during lunch, and inventory management under a Dietetics

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates the dish machine and keeps dish/kitchen areas clean and sanitized.
• Prepares and assists with patient meals and trays per dietary orders.
• Ensures modified diets are prepared on schedule and maintains taste/texture quality.
• Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of kitchen areas.
• Transports and stocks deliveries for hospital units and school meals.
• Operates POS system during lunch periods and assists with payments as needed.
• Adheres to safety policies and lifting guidelines and maintains personal hygiene.
• Assists in inventory and daily stock management, including FIFO rotation.
• Attends departmental meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
