J.D. McCarty Center in Norman, OK is seeking Direct Care Specialists to support pediatric patients from birth to 21 in day and evening shifts. Responsibilities include hygiene, daily living assistance, and accompanying patients to school, medical and therapy appointments, and community outings.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, compassionate, punctual, and capable of lifting up to 30 pounds. A high school diploma is required and an on-going probationary period applies.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous hospital, recreational, or therapeutic experience preferred
• Educational background in medical, recreational, or therapeutic
• Excellent customer service skills
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 30 pounds
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Will serve a 1 year probationary period
• References required
• Will have one day of a scheduled paid on-call per week
• Summer field trips with the kids

Aufgaben

• Patient care – Hygiene and daily living assistance, toileting, bathing, showering, meals, and accompanying patients to on-site school, medical and therapeutic appointments, and outings; maintain patient living areas and care equipment.
• Medical needs – Assist with medical treatments, support during therapies, follow patient care plans, document in EHR, report concerns to nurse.
• Professional development – Maintain specialized training and potential certification as an RBT, when applicable.
