Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program, or acceptance into pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy Tech II requires North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration and PTCB/ExCPT certification.
• Ability to compound medications and prepare intravenous admixtures under supervision.
• Basic math, medical terminology, and computer literacy.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and maintain inventory practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare intravenous admixtures or sterile products, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
• Fill physician orders, medication carts, and stock requisitions.
• Document restock requests and use compounding software.
• Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of equipment.
• Answer phones and provide technical support for automated equipment.
• Maintain logs and documentation; ensure drug storage inspections are completed monthly.
• Stock medications and supplies; package medications for dispensing.
• Perform related duties incidental to the role.
