The acutecare speechpathologist at Cook Children's Health Care System in Fort Worth will evaluate, diagnose, and treat medically complex pediatric patients in medical, surgical, and ICU settings. Responsibilities include comprehensive feeding evaluations, instrumental swallow assessments, and dysphagia management, with development of individualized treatment plans.

Collaboration with nurses, physicians, dietitians, lactation, and therapists is essential; family-centered care and caregiver

Formación

• Master's degree in speech/language pathology, communication disorders, or related.
• At least 2 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing experience in an acute pediatric hospital is preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
• State license or eligible for state licensure.
• CCC-SLP certification or eligible for application upon CFY completion within 12 months to maintain employment at Cook.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat medically complex pediatric patients in medical/surgical and ICU settings.
• Perform comprehensive feeding evaluations and instrumental swallow assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for cognitive communication, speech and language disorders.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, dietitians, lactation, respiratory therapists and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide family-centered care with caregiver education during evaluation and discharge planning.
• Handle documentation, rounding, staff/training, and prioritize clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with weekend coverage, holidays and inclement weather coverage.
