Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. You will lead nursing and allied staff, oversee clinical operations, and ensure high-quality patient care in a complex pediatric critical care setting.

You will ensure staffing efficiency, maintain regulatory compliance, coach team members, and participate in quality improvement efforts to advance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and five years of RN experience, two in leadership.
• Valid RN license.
• Prefer clinical experience in area to be supervised/managed.

Responsibilities

• Manages and directs the operations and delivery of patient care within the budgetary, staffing and regulatory guidelines, using evidence based practice.
• Ensures that personnel demonstrate quality standards of customer satisfaction and patient care.
• Manages nursing and ancillary personnel within an assigned area or unit by coaching, educating, consulting, training and evaluating their performance.
• Plans, schedules and organizes the work of the assigned area or unit to ensure the proper distribution of assignments and efficient utilization of clinical personnel, space and facilities.
• Assures compliance with productivity standards for assigned area/units.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of clinical care.
• Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
