Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking an experienced RN for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This full-time role may also be available as PRN.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, coordinating admissions, educating patients and families, and serving as a preceptor. A valid RN license and ability to work in a team are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments.
• Educates patients and families on condition, diet and medications/treatments and adherence to schedules.
• Ensures the safety of patients.
• Coordinates referrals to other services within and outside of the unit.
• Maintains accurate patient records.
• Functions as a preceptor per UMMC guidelines.
• Reports patient issues or concerns to supervisor as appropriate.
• Serves on committees or task forces to improve patient care and work area.
