Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an energetic acute care pediatric nurse practitioner to join its 48-bed PICU team, providing care from birth to 18 years old. The role involves collaboration with residents, fellows, and attending physicians in a Level 1 trauma center with ECMO and robust subspecialty support.

Applicants must have graduated from an acute care pediatric NP program; new grads are welcome, with PICU RN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an acute care pediatric NP program.
• New grads accepted; prior PICU RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive health histories, physicals, and care plans for pediatric patients birth to 18.
• Collaborates with residents, fellows, and attending physicians for patient management.
• Orders and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Forms family-centered care plans during interprofessional rounds.
• Performs daily documentation and billing.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary services.
• Performs critical care procedures such as intubations and central lines.
• Updates care plans based on evidence-based practice and family needs.
• Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Engages in professional development and mentoring of staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to patient safety and safe practice.
• Performs miscellaneous duties, research, and education.
