Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a part-time nurse for the Physician Access Line/Children’s Direct team. The role offers remote start with eventual hybrid work and 8-hour shifts on a 24/7 access line.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of pediatric ICU or ED nursing experience. Responsibilities include direct patient care, education for families, safety and quality activities, and collaboration with the interprofessional team to plan and communicate care

Qualifications

• Candidate has at least 2 years of pediatric ICU or ED nursing experience.
• BSN preferred; strong computer/typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, post-treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in patient safety, quality and regulatory activities and professional development.
• Develops and documents plans of care with the interprofessional team and communicates across the care continuum.
• Ensures communication of the plan of care and considers patient preferences and cultural needs.
