Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for PICU / CVPICU on a 60% FTE Weekender schedule with 12-hour Day/Evening shifts every Saturday and Sunday.

Join our 21-bed unit to provide family-centered care to critically ill children, including complex cardiac cases and ECMO, with competitive benefits and shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months inpatient nursing experience or current UW Health Nurse Residency program participant with successful orientation on unit.
• Relevant RN experience preferred.
• Licensed RN in WI or a compact state; CPR/BLS required; PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children in a state-of-the-art 21-bed PICU/CVPICU.
• Care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical problems, including cardiac conditions and ECMO.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support families throughout the care journey.

Job description

60% FTE Weekender position with 12-hour Day/Evening shifts every Saturday and Sunday from 0700-1930. You will be working at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is eligible for shift and weekender differentials depending on hours worked.

Pay:

Additional components of compensation may include:

Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked.
Weekender Differential: $10/hour as applicable for hours worked during core-weekender hours.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - PICU / CVPICU to:

• Join our remarkable highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team, to provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in this state-of-the art 21-bed unit.
• Provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO.
• Provide high quality care to complex cardiac conditions. Including complex congenital heart defects, Ventricular Assisted Devices, and heart transplant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• Inpatient Units: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
• Relevant RN experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
• PALS within 6 months Required
• Relevant certification Preferred
