Job summary

A not-for-profit regional hospital in Mattoon, Illinois, is adding a full-time board-certified pediatrician to their collegial inpatient team. Opening due to one of their pediatric hospitalists switching to outpatient. January 2027 start with a flexible 5-on / 10-off schedule and 24-hour shifts. ED consults, inpatient rounds, Level II nursery, and high-risk deliveries are included, with strong compensation and benefits. Mattoon offers a vibrant community with amenities.

Qualifications

• Board-certified pediatrician with hospitalist experience.
• Comfort with high-risk deliveries and neonatal procedures.
• Experience in inpatient pediatric care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED consultations and inpatient rounds for pediatric patients.
• Manage Level II nursery care and coordinate high-risk deliveries.
• Round and go; participate in 24-hour shifts and maintain availability for transport.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and timely care.
