Job summary

Children’s National Rehabilitation & Specialized Care Center (RSC) in Washington, DC, seeks a Team Lead Cook to run daily kitchen operations, prepare high‑quality meals for patients, families, staff and guests, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

You will supervise dietary staff, coordinate menus, maintain inventory, and support compliance with Department of Health policies while promoting a safe, welcoming food service environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of cook experience required.
• Ability to read recipes and production records.
• Must obtain DC Food Handler Certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations and ensure compliance with health standards.
• Prepare high-quality meals for patients, families, staff and guests.
• Oversee food preparation and service activities; coordinate menus and inventory.
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper food handling and safety.
