Overview

Johns Hopkins Care at Home Pediatrics has proudly served the Maryland community since 1983, and the D.C. region since 2018. Our highly trained team provides dependable services and support when it is needed most. Our goal is to provide care for children with chronic, complex conditions in their home and allow them to stay in school—and out of the hospital—where they can thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled evaluation, treatment, and care for pediatric patients (newborns through young adults) in accordance with the State of Maryland and District of Columbia nursing scope of practice.
  • Coordinate, teach, and supervise care for patients in the home setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care under physician orders.
  • Apply principles of teaching and learning to patients and/or caregivers with varied abilities and learning needs.
  • Maintain an organized approach to work tasks, meet time requirements, and deliver high-quality care.
  • Provide care for and maintain central venous access devices (CVADs) including sterile technique, accessing ports, and removal of PICCs.
  • Place peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVs) in pediatric patients.
  • Administer high‑tech infusions such as biologics, immunotherapy, or chemotherapy.
  • Use new technologies and computer programs quickly and effectively.
Work Schedule

40 hours per week. 8‑ or 10‑hour shifts available. Rotating weekend shifts (typically one weekend every 6 weeks). Work off holidays (work 2 holidays a year). Take calls: yes.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with nursing license in Maryland.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an acute care pediatric unit, preferably critical care or ED.

  • Strong communication, teaching, and organizational skills.
Salary

Minimum $39.64 per hour – maximum $61.45 per hour. Compensation commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
