Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examinations and treatments. You will interview patients, record vital signs, assist with specimen collection and coordinate patient flow, tests and referrals.

This role requires teamwork and strict adherence to HIPAA and clinic policies. The ideal candidate has completion of a medical assistant program or at least 1 year of clinical experience, plus strong computer and EHR skills; BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year experience in a clinical capacity.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Special Skills - Computer literate; skilled in use of Microsoft outlook, electronic health records and other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and accurately identify patients before interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Document visit notes including chief complaint, medical history, vitals, immunizations and medications.
• Administer medications under physician orders and clinic policies.
• Coordinate patient flow, appointments, tests and referrals to optimize efficiency.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures and handling of specimens.
• Prepare, stock and clean exam rooms and maintain supplies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement.
