Job summary

FMOL Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under physician supervision in a Baton Rouge clinic. You will interview patients, record vital signs, and help with procedures and specimen collection.

You’ll manage patient flow, schedule tests and referrals, and assist with regulatory compliance. The role requires completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year of clinical experience, High School diploma, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year of clinical experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Interview patients and record vital signs and medical history.
• Prepare specimens or swabs for laboratory analysis as directed.
• Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, tests and referrals.
• Triage calls and document patient information per HIPAA rules.
• Maintain exam rooms and prepare medications and supplies.
• Assist with minor procedures and document care accurately.
